Punkrock

Our way of paying tribute to ska music in London, 1969 (Quick info: ska in London in 1969 – we mix punk and ska). Info: London. Ska hits the streets like a sonic riot. What started in sweaty dancehalls in Jamaica crashes into the UK with full force — brought over by immigrants, turned up by the youth. The Spirit of '69 wasn’t just music — it was movement. Ska, rocksteady, and early reggae took hold of the working class, especially the original skinheads. Boots, braces, basslines. Black and white kids standing side by side, skanking to the same beat — unity in sound and soul, before the media twisted it all. Names like Prince Buster, The Skatalites, Desmond Dekker, Toots & the Maytals lit the fire. London danced.

SID THE PUNKROCKER

The story of a bloke called Sid the Rocker.

Hanging with this punky band — real shockers.

Loved that smack, boots, and his biker jacket

The style was deadly, fucked.

Cut himself and bled. He played like a madman,

Sometimes the audience got smashed in the head.

This bloke battled; he took no shit.

His style was vicious. They called him Sid.

Story of the band, punk shocking a whole nation,

Across the land, out of hand, they got banned.

Provocative, swore on the TV station. Oh, God save the Queen,

The worst ever fuckin heard and seen. One was sacked, subtracted, and replaced with Sid's act.

The bloke battled, he took no shit. His style was vicious.

They called him Sid.

The story of this lad ended up so sad, Blame the fame, went out of hand, into the wasteland. Nancy’s skills with heroin and pills, 'cause drugs killing. God save the drug Queen, Just do it again -to kill the pain. Let the death spread in his vain. The media loved the entertainment. This bloke battled, he took no shit. They called him Sid.
